These types of games engage the creative side of your brain by asking you to come up with words that fulfil the criteria of a specific category.
In the guggenheim version of a categories game, five letter words are used in combination with a series of categories. To play the game, players must think of words or concepts that begin with each letter. In practice this means you must think of five things to write for each category listed.
There are 11 categories in this Halloween Scattergories game and the five letter word is “scary.” An example of how to play: if you are trying to come up with responses to the category “Halloween movies,” you will look to the letter heading each column. So you might write “Scream” in the first column, Carrie in the next, followed by Arachnophobia and so forth.
