Bold Polka Border Portrait Recipe Card

Recently a visitor left a comment on Skribit asking for portrait recipe cards. D’oh! I hadn’t even thought of a vertical format. Oops, my bad. I’ll try to make some more of these in future! Thank you to the reader who made the suggestion as I’m sure you’re not the only one who thinks it’s a cool idea. Funny how we get so stuck on what we’re used to seeing and don’t think outside the box…

I was working on a design for a possible new site I’ve had in the back of my mind for decades (okay, maybe a year, but same difference) and was fooling around with brushes and borders in illustrator. Why am I telling you this? Because that’s where the polka dottedness came from. A good one for anyone who loves color and isn’t afraid to use it! In my kitchen there’s plenty of color. Mainly it’s from food I’ve accidentally flung onto the ceiling.

Anyhow, I’d love to know what you think of the vertical format…
